Fees

Historically, CPA’s have billed by time only. This philosophy is both anti-client-service and inadequate in today’s highly computerized world. While time is an important factor, it is only the starting point of billing.

If because of interruptions or inefficiency, a job takes two hours that should only take an hour, should the client pay for the two hours? Clearly – no! It is insane to think that the more inefficient you are, the more money you can bill.

Or, because one client pays for technical research and that information is passed on to a second client, should the second client pay for the few seconds it took to be told the information, or for a duplication of the original research time? DAS uses time billing in conjunction with value billing. Value billing is understanding what the job is worth, not just how much time is spent.
